Stars on Ice - Lake Placid, NY, 11/26/05
by Suzy

I was on the way to my seat when the radio announcer welcomed everyone to the show so I couldn't hear everything he said, but I did catch him say that the tour would be taped at various locations and would be shown on tv on January 14 (I think that's what people remember because I just remember it was in the teens). Now, if they're taping at different locations, I'm curious as to how it can be shown that early! They'd have a bit of editing to do and I don't think the official tour starts til January 8th. I was a little disappointed that the show was a little light on the group numbers, but was chalked-full of little transitions between just about every number, and the Introduction was longer, so there was definitely still a lot going on.

Act 1

Loverly Spring - Cast

I could see silhouettes of the skaters on the ice and I was trying to figure out who was in front of us. Then the lights went up. SOI honestly had me starting to worry a little bit. I was just taking it in and waiting for what else was going to happen...and it kept going. That was great as it was purposeful to make us question what the heck they were doing! I really wanted to know why they were dressed as flowers, bugs and farmers! And why was John holding a watering can!? Jamie and Yuka I believe were dressed up as bees or butterflies--something with antennae. Kyoko, Jen, and I think Elena were dressed as flowers. The guys were dressed in overalls. John had a watering can, David had a shovel, Steven had a net as well as someone else...not sure who. I am not sure what the other guys had, but I think the pretty much were in 2's, holding at least similar items. They're all skating around as if it was Ice Capades; the guys with nets trying to catch the girls with antennaes un til we had the scratching the record effect and Scott's video saying, STOP! STOP! STOP! (I might be paraphrasing). This is NOT how we intended the show to be! I can't remember what else he said exactly, and I'm not sure if it was here because I kind of remember it as before one of the group numbers too, but he said somewhere that this tour all started based on the fact that Men Don't Sell. The ladies often...ok I don't remember what he said after this but basically, those men sell, most definitely in this tour!

I'd Do Anything For Love Cast

Now for the REAL opener. It was far more simple than previous years, but I really enjoyed it. I do like the music because it has power in it. I think it's good for the general audience to have 1-2 skaters/1 skater, 1 pair out at the same time because it's not sensory overload. The costumes are the same for the guys and the same for the ladies so there's not the distraction of other colors and styles (though that isn't always the case when there are differing ones, but I find myself always looking at the different styles). When Alexei came out first, I was thinking, wow that costume looks great on him. Then all the guys came out with it on!! The ladies looked great in the dresses as well. They're VERY sparkly. Even though they are kind of a dark teal, they look a deeper blue from a distance. I didn't notice the stars across the top of the ladies dresses (one big star) because they're very subtle, but I think they add a nice touch. The ladies and guys together looked wonderful. I can't remember a whole lot about it as everyone came out and did a move of their own. I do remember Jen doing a 2axel and Jamie & David, Elena & Anton and John & Kyoko did the overhead lifts they did in Time so that the ladies were about eye level to where I was sitting in the 5th row. They skated a bit together in the end of it and finished with one of the great group poses.

Winter Alexei

Somehow, when I was scanning the program I COMPLETELY missed the fact that Winter was on there. When Alexei came out in his Winter costume, I glanced down at the program and realized that he was actually skating it! Scott did a voiceover that mentioned what it took to become a member of Stars on Ice. A Gold Medal is one way to do that. That segued into this number, which may not have had quads, but the footwork was definitely a highlight. I think this program is a great way to show that 'THIS is the kind of skating that makes a skater good enough to become a member of a prestigous show.' It was great because that is one of my favorite technical programs because of his amazing footwork. It was great to see it live. I think some casual fans will remember it and may be excited to see it. I liked the inclusion of such numbers to tie in the past number of years.

Cell Phone Kyoko and John

Kyoko and John come out and take their pose in the middle of the ice. Swan Lake comes on and they begin to skate their program. John has Kyoko up in a spinning lift and his cell phone rings. He stops the lift, answers the phone and all but forgets about Kyoko, almost dropping her out of the lift. He's talking to Scott, who is on the screens in the corner of the ice. Scott tells him it's not his turn yet (revisiting It's not TIME for the guest star spot). He said they've graduated to the second half of the show! They jump up and down excited and go to leave the ice. Scott adds, what are you doing with a cell phone anyway? He adds that he shouldn't be carrying it around! One of my favorite funny moments of the night!

Beanfields - Yuka

My first reaction was, ooo this is fun music and her outfit is cute! She did a 3loop, 3sal and I believe at least one 2axel. Teh only thing I can say I had a problem with was the music. I liked the music, but it went on...and on...and on...and on...and on...and on... without much variation. It's ok for the first minute of so, but it has to have some sort of change in the middle, or it is anti-climatic. The music itself was very fast and she kept up with it the entire time, but I would rather see it change halfway through and see what that interpretation would be like. A well-balanced program sometimes needs differing tempos, or at least changes within the music. It was like listening to a banjo play a hoedown for six minutes. So, with that said, I think Yuka did a great job with it, but the lackluster effect for me was that she really could not do anything more to highlight the music. I loved the cute side it borught out, but I'd love to see it mixed with another piece that can definitely be the same style, just a different tempo or overall mood so that it does not feel like the energizer bunny.

You Are So Beautiful - Elena and Anton

This program WAS so beautiful. It eminates classy pairs from every angle. Anton looked great in the untucked shirt as it was somewhat form fitting. I loved the skirt to Elena's dress. Unfortunately, in her throw triple (I can't remember what it was, though someone said it was a loop), it looked like Anton maybe overthrew her a little. I think she went further than halfway across the ice on the throw and just couldn't hang on to it, did a nasty fall on her stomach, I believe it was and scrambled up so she wouldn't slide into the ice seats and literally landed on her toepicks off the ice, just barely stopping herself before she landed in the seats. I didn't know it until retakes, but that is where the Leap of Faith was supposed to take place. The only way she was going to be able to do it would have been if the audience had caught her! I really enjoyed their lifts. I think that's the part of the choreography that caught me the most. During retakes it hadthe same effect on me with the Leap of Faith. The program was gorgeous and I don't remember a lot of particulars because I was just enjoying it so much that I think I might have been a bit mesmerized. I think the style suits them perfectly.

Puppet - Todd

Todd comes out with the Scott puppet. It's reminiscent of the Flea Tenor. The puppet talks away (can't remember what he says) and Todd holds up a mirror and Scott realizes he's just a puppet, is saddened, and they leave the ice.

The Beat Goes On - Jennifer

Jen fits in SO well to this tour. I knew she'd be a great fit, but she's better integrated than I could have imagined! I think she's the best lady to be with the tour since "the favorites" stopped touring full-time. It looks like she's been skating with them right along, and not just north of the border! You could tell she was really enjoying herself and this program was a good fit for her. It showed her playful side without being overly done and allowed her to reach the audience. When she first came out, she received a warm applause and by the end you could tell she made a great impression by the increased level of applause. My favorite part of her program is the one-foot axel into the 3salchow sequence. Her dress was retro orange and pink with a flower on the front and the skirt had fabric sewn together to form vertical stripes.

Transition

Jen and Steven skate past each other connecting one program to the next by doing some mirroring moves.

Belfast Child - Steven

It was wonderful to see this live. I've always heard so much about it and hardly even remember watching it on television. As it is one of Steven's signature pieces, it's great to see him bring it to the tour. The program's interpretation has a great feel and I look forward to seeing it again so I can remember more of it. It is one of the pieces to tie into the development of the skaters and the tour in the past 20 years. He missed the triple flip I think it was and then he bobbled in his camel, then his split/3toe, split/3toe didn't quite happen correctly so we saw him do quite a bit of it in retakes, which I didn't mind one bit. I never want to see the skaters miss anything, but I am certainly not going to argue if I can see them again in retakes!

Masks - Cast

The cast is standing in a circle by the tunnel end holding a Scott mask in front of each of their faces. A little Scott overload but still comical. Scott says, who is responsible for this? Who's responsible!? Then he says, if you are not responsible for this, you may leave the ice. Jamie and David are left standing, someone takes their masks and they get ready for Elite Syncopations.

Elite Syncopations - Jamie and David

I love when Jamie and David do the fun programs!! Elite Syncopations was part of the Red Hat music from long ago, so it also brought a level of nostalgia--in a good way. The choreography was reminiscent of the '97 tour, though still greatly different. It starts with Jamie and David doing choreography passing each other while always looking in the other direction so they continue to miss each other and don't know that the other is already there and all of the sudden they turn around and see each other and it is like to say, "Ok! Let's begin!" I love the part where David's holding Jamie and she is running on air. I know someone did that at one point but I can't remember who, when or where. The poofy skirt (just on the backside) is always a funny touch. The part where Jamie presents David during his 'moment in the spotlight' was pretty funny. She also does the handstand lift in this one. It's really hard to remember a lot of the particulars because it is quite a complicated program with a ton of choreography and I can't wait to see it again so I can soak in more of it.

Alexander's Ragtime Band - Todd

I would have preferred a more up-beat verision of this song, but it definitely suited Todd well. He has such a great 2axel that you can tell he could easily triple it. I hope he does sometime during the tour. I can't remember what jumps he did in this program or the other, but I do remember a triple toe. He looks fantastic and you'd never know he had any foot/ankle problems. His camel/camel is amazingly straight and centered. If you took still frames of him, everything would be lined up as if he were leaning against a wall. I don't remember a lot of specifics from this program so I'll be interested to watch it again.

First rehearsal

Scott on screen introduces the Dance Medley by explaining a little bit of the first rehearsal. I can't remember what he said.

Dance Medley - Cast

This was a FUN number. I wished it was a little longer, especially considering we didn't get another group number in the middle of this act. The little costume changes were great uses of what they had out on the ice. Three of the ladies added a retro fringe skirt attached to a half-top kind of thing (you couldn't really tell the difference between that and the leotard) to their black leotards and skirts during Dancing in the Street. Unfortunately, when they did a jump together (axel?), Yuka's went flying off. Jamie went over to get it out of the way, inserting her own interpretive choreography and dancing with it over her head on the way back to the rack where everything was hanging. I don't remember all the particulars of each section of the Medley so I will move to Some Days You Gotta Dance. That was very fun. Jamie was so into the choreography. All of the skaters were having a great time. I loved the little costume changes and the yellow hats and scarves they added to their black costumes. Great choreography and a fun-loving portion of the medley! The girls certainly got the guys roped in by the end of it. I'll move to Last Dance next. I had always thought this would be a great group number song in Stars. I'm glad they use it. I think it has that great dance quality and moving beat to capture people's attention. I don't remember the choreography of it as well. I do remember the girls flipped their skirts around and had pink ruffles on them (for all of them?) and that matched the guys collars. I think the guys had a couple colors of collars but I don't know exactly how they changed them up. There were a lot of subtle costume changes. It was a slightly sad moment when they hit the pose at the end of You Should Be Dancing...because it was halfway through the show! I can't wait to listen to the music more and then see the Medley again so I can remember more that happens throughout the songs. This program was definitely a plus and has even more potential when the miles are put on it!

Intermission

Todd came out and said we've probably seen him come out and talk to us before about the Boys and Girls club and did his little spiel on it. We changed seats to ones in the section across the ice from us. I really liked the location of our seats and though I usually love being close, the fifth row was a great perspective to see things from. However, it was a hard decision deciding between that and a chance to view the second portion of the show from the first row as no one was sitting in it. Even though we had a few heads in the way, I figured I'd give it a shot for a different perspective of the show. I think of the two portions of the night, the first section was my favorite, but being in the second one, we were able to make a little eye contact with a few skaters, which is definitely a-ok in my book! I think the major difference is that it is easier to see the overall choreography a little higher up. I love being close most of the time so it's interesting having the perspective up a handful of rows. I found out after the show that I remembered a lot more from the first half. Either my brain was on overload or I remember things when I'm a little higher. Either way, I'll do my best to remember the second half in detail! All through intermission, the screens had clips of past Stars on Ice skaters and group numbers. I definitely am going to sit and watch that through intermission next time. I watched as much as I could while walking around--it was good to have the screens in all four corners! I really like how they did the clips. Perfect time.

Act 2

Overature/Comedy Tonight - Cast

This was a fun number. I wish I remembered specifics but for some reason I'm having trouble with them. The part I remember distinctly is the choreography from The Red Hat where the hat gets passed down the line and Katia accidentally passes it to Kurt at the end of the line. This time Jamie passed it to Alexei. Throughout the entire number, Jamie continued to keep losing and dropping her hat when everyone else had it down perfectly (this was on purpose). So it was kind of a Red Hat 2. When the music ended, Jamie was the only one to catch her hat and stood up proudly to show it off. Definitely has a lot of potential and it will be interesting to see how it develops throughout the tour. It's exciting to see some of the older stuff brought to a new life!

Chaplin Medley - Elena and Anton

I was excited to see Elena and Anton skate to this! I had always wanted to see it live. I love how they bring their characters to life and the choreography really accentuates it. The interesting twist at the end was turning from the complicated, yet simple characters to breakdancing. I wasn't quite sure I 'got' it, so I'll have to see it again so I can observe how they change from Chaplin to what is like Dance Mix 2. Evolution of time? music? skating?

Telegram - John, Kyoko,Yuka

John and Kyoko come out again and take center ice for their Swan Lake number. The music starts, they start skating and then Yuka comes out with a telegram, interrupting their program. It was It's Not TIME with a twist from Popcorn. They read something about how it's not their turn yet. It was cute but wasn't half as funny as the first one so I hope it gets funnier as they have more practice with it.

Superstition - Steven

Yay for Steven having two numbers!!! It's about time! This was a good one for him as he can bring out some of his personality. A fun dance number. Unfortuantely I again am not remembering too much about this one. Maybe I was enjoying it too much! I love Steven's skating! He had a costume with some purple in it--that much I do remember!

Photograph - Steven and Anton

I think Steven sits on someone's lap and Anton either pretends or really does take a picture of them. I really couldn't tell as it was the complete opposite corner of the arena from me. It'll be interesting to hear more about that one.

If It Wasn't For Your Love - Jennifer

Listen to the lyrics when you hear this piece. It's very suiting for Jen's place within the tour. I loved her dress and the skirt flowed beautifully, especially in spins. She had very elegant choreography. Her 3lutz was the only hiccup in the program. It's great to see her still doing it. Her layback was very long and really pretty. She dropped her foot in it and held it and I believe she did a few arm movements.

Get Here - Yuka and Jason

It was nice to see Yuka skate pairs. Most of the public really has not had the opportunity to see her skate pairs live unless they have attended a Disson show. I think it's neat to see her versatility within skating throughout the show. I felt kind of bad for Jason as Jen was introduced as the newest member of Stars on Ice a couple times and Jason wasn't ever mentioned except for during roll call in the finale! Her dress and his costume complimented one another nicely. They have really pretty lifts that cover the ice with good speed. You can tell they are seasoned skaters.

On The Road

Scott's voiceover said that it was a peek into what goes on behind the scenes on the tour when they're on the road. I don't remember everything he said.

Too Me Tango - Jennifer, Steven, Todd, John, David

I really didn't think this was introduced quite the way the program played out. The guys start by rolling out their black suitcases, one guy (I think it was John) with 2--the other suitcase being red. Looking all tired they say thanks and wave to the bus drivers (spots were used for lights) and then did their traditional guy number with a prop. Personally, I could have done without the suitcases, but the guys are always funny regardless. They tangoed with them for a little bit. It appeared at first as if they'd do something funny about a day in the life, but then Jen came out. The program turned into 'the girl is going to get what she wants' ...or so she thinks. By the end, the guys were hanging the suitcases on her arms and then she fell over, which was probably one of, if not the, funniest part of the night for me. She played the part really well. She managed to get back up, tried to grab all 4 suitcases, plus her white coat and then kicked her red suitcase toward the tunnel as she yelled (something like ahhh/argh!), kicked it through the curtain and left managing the rest of them. It was really funny, but I think the intro might need to be adjusted a little bit to fit the theme of the number. It's not really a peek behind the scenes so much as a story about a particular character. Hard to explain without remembering exactly what was said and what happened except that the intro seemed to fit the beginning and end of the program, but not the middle so much. Maybe seeing it again will make more sense, but I do hope they check that out to make sure it makes sense. Most of the people seeing it will only see it once.

Sway - Alexei

I prefer Michael Bublé's version of this song, but I can't see Alexei skating to a man's voice! The seat we moved to ended up being right next to where Alexei came down and 2 rows down from where he danced on the member's lap. I think some of his dancing was a little extreme for some of the general audience, but most of it was pretty funny. The girl (she was an adult but looked to be on the younger side) didn't know what to make of it. You could tell she thought it was funny and she kept smiling as after Alexei hopped over the boards, throughout his program, he'd point to her and make a face almost every time he came back to the corner. I liked his outfit--suiting for the music. I can't remember everything he did in the program, but it was fun. I definitely need to see it again as I think I was paying more attention to what happened as he came around my end because he was being funny. He gets a thumbs up just for skating to one of my favorite songs!

The Suite - Yuka, video

This was a poor use of skating with video. Yuka was skating to what amounted to a half-program, but they started the video while she was skating and that was distracting. It was too difficult to watch both of them and as the lights were lower, I ended up watching more of the video than I did of Yuka. They started out by showing the members of Stars that have since passed on--Rob McCall, Brian Pokar, Sergei Grinkov, [I'm missing someone here and totally forgetting who it is so if you know who it was please remind me!] and Rob MacCormick (sp?). They showed a clip of them skating, still shots, and then a headshot in black and white. Sergei received an applause from the crowd as his story is the most widely known, followed, and heartfelt. I think it was a nice way to remember the faces of the tour past, but maybe it would have been helpful to the general audience to have not just the name, but also who they were. Most people aren't going to know who Rob MacCormick was. It would probably look ok saying, "Rob McCall, Canadian Ice Dancer; Brian Pokar, Canadian Champion; Sergei Grinkov, Russian Pairs Champion," etc. Then at least people would know who they were. After the Stars affiliates who have passed were remembered, the new generations were shown. Most, if not all, of the footage was from Kristi's show from this year. It was neat seeing it since I was there and it's the first of the show I've seen. Keara, Gabriel, Liza, Daria, Hannah, Jack, and Aidan (I'm not sure if it was him, but it was at least made to sound like him saying Daddy at one point during one of the clips--not sure if it was during this segment though). Some of the shots were of just the kids and some were with their parents. There was a super cute one of Jenni, Todd and Jack. There was a funny clip of Kurt pointing to the smile on his shirt and some cute ones with him and Gabriel. The sweetest one was the final clip, slowed down, of Keara and Aidan's kiss. I didn't realize it was on camera! Scott mentioned it at Kristi's show. The problem with this section was that it was just too much having Yuka on the ice and the video going. I'm guessing almost no one was watching Yuka, which is a waste of her talent. How about showing the ones who have passed, having Yuka skate, then showing the new generations? I think that would work SO much more effectively. I hope it changes because this is probably the biggest bone I have to pick with the show. I just hope that they show that and not Yuka's skating on tv--not that I don't want to see her skate, but she's in the show a couple other times.

Cell Phone #2

Scott tries to get a hold of John by cell to ask where they are as it is their turn to skate, but then realizes he told him not to be carrying his cell with him. Then Kyoko and John take the ice, ready for their turn.

Vertigo - John and Kyoko

It's exciting for John and Kyoko's program to be so far into the show! I really REALLY wish they would do two. Their skating is spectacular and they are loved. I really liked their choreography from the Fly High and Say Bye to their straight-line footwork. We hardly EVER get to see that!!! John's shirt gets two thumbs up from me and I really like the design of Kyoko's. It is reminiscent of ones Katia had worn during her days on tour. They have so much energy throughout the number that I never get bored. Vertigo is a good song, not my favorite, but with them skating, it brings a better appreciation to the music. I can't wait to see it again to catch the choreography that I don't remember well!

Bolero - Todd

Definitely wasn't sure how I felt about Todd skating to Bolero, though if anyone on the tour can do it, it's him. He did figures at the beginning, reminiscent of Brian Orser doing figures at the beginning of his. Obviously Bolero is Torvill and Dean's trademark, so that ties into the history of skating and the members in it as well. He wore royal blue pants and a purple shirt with soft oval-rectangular designs, some of which were matching the royal blue of his pants. He did a great 2 axel in the corner and his spins were superb. I don't have a whole lot to say about the program yet, but it has potential. It'll be interesting to see how it develops throughout the season.

Scott's Spot

Scott introduces the next number by saying this is the spot he looked forward to skating in for 15 years. Then he introduces Jamie and David who are skating in the coveted last spot of the show.

Blower's Daughter - Jamie and David

I LOVE this program and can't tell you how excited I was when I found out this one is the one they're doing! Jamie's hair looked really pretty--half up, but the ponytail was low. I absolutely LOVE the Come Away With Me dress, so I didn't mind that they didn't have their official ones yet! The design is so pretty on her. "...can't take my eyes off of you, can't take my eyes off of you, can't take my eyes off of you...can't take my eyes off of you..." was certainly the best way to explain this program. Not only could I not take my eyes off of them, but they could not take their eyes off of each other. They seriously only did a few times when they were either standing with each other with her in front facing out or a move that required them to be looking in different directions. With Jamie's big eyes and the way she looks up at David just makes your heart melt. They certainly have the look of love in their eyes and it is so genuine. I love the lifts they are doing that flow seamlessly into one another and I especially love when she does a spiral with one skate between David's legs by his knees and facing out. He has to bend his knees deeply and lean back a little bit to balance out the weight. I also like the besti-squat he does with her wrapped around him grabbing her blade. They always do something different. Even if they have something similar in their program from another one, it's always different. Such a beautiful program.

Roll Call

They introduce the skaters individually at the end, which I think works really well for the show since they are introduced before their numbers adequately. It gives a different feel. They are all standing at various spots on the ice and the spot goes from one to the next (kind of staggered down the ice), introducing each skater and pair. Jamie and David changed wickedly fast and were out during the introduction of the third to last skater. Jason was introduced before them and they were introduced last. They only get a little breather between their program and the finale! I'm glad they do it this way and don't leave anyone out of the beginning of the finale because they were in the last number. They're all out skating, which is really neat, instead of taking turns like they did in the second half of the Opening.

Sing, Sing, Sing - Cast

I am so partial to this type of music. It just makes me happy thinking about it! I think the finale needs a little more punch and I think it will probably come with time. It has a lot of potential. I really liked the costumes. They were striped and each girl had a stripe of a color to match her skirt. The pairs' colors matched the front of their respective partner's shirts and the stripes around the shirts' cuffs. Jamie and David had red, Elena and Anton were in yellow, Yuka (and Jason too?) was in a blue-teal, Alexei in orange, Jen in green, Kyoko and John in pink, and I can't remember what color Todd had. It was a fun number but I don't think it has quite come together yet. I have trouble remember lots of parts of it. I think they did well considering they only had a couple of weeks to work on everything. I wish I had more to say about it but I just don't remember a lot of particulars! They took a bow down the middle of the ice then broke away to do one final little bit and then posed. After that, they shook hands for what was quite a short amount of time to In The Mood. They REALLY need to allow for more hand-shaking time, ESPECIALLY considering it's the 20th Anniversary! It was so short I don't even know if the skaters had enough time to even get to everyone. Forget being able to shake a couple skaters' hands, be lucky if you even get one to come near you! Elena and Anton were down in front of us and Jamie and David were down a little past halfway. Steven and I *think* John were in between. It happened so fast that I didn't really even get a chance to look anywhere else. I was in the first row and there were 2 on-ice rows (the second was elevated, by the way) so I wasn't close enough to shake anyone's hand. After that extremely short time of shaking hands, they went to the tunnel end of the ice and did their bow, waved to the crowd and left. I'm really looking forward to how this number will be in a few months!

Retakes

Todd came out and said that it was a lot of work, especially at that altitude! He was definitely out of breath. He asked us not to leave...I think it was him. Scott took over the mic and received a huge ovation. He said that there are a few things that didn't quite go as planned choreographically. He said that they have some things to work out, punch lines, lack thereof and spoke a little bit of Lake Placid. He said it was great to bring it here. Here is the only place to bring it and they couldn't do it anywhere else. He thanked us and talked for a little bit. He mentioned that a lot of the ideas were Jef's and that he's been working on it since May. He said he was in the first row and we gave him an applause as the spot was shown on him. Scott also said something about the last minute costumes that they were working on right up to the show and they worked out well. When a few girls yelled down to him asking how he was feeling, he said he was feeling great. He said last year when he was getting ready for this show and was all set to go, just had to do his show first, he had to go to the doctor and they found this "noggin' nugget" but it's all taken care of and he's perfect now. It was good to hear from his mouth and I hope that he's doing really well because he certainly looks like he is! He looks great and like the Scott we all know and love. As Steven stepped out, Scott finished up the thank you's to the crew and then addressed Steven. When Steven came out he said some unplanned choreography happened...was it due to nerves or something like that? Steven shook his head really fast and hard. He did a single, stretched a little, then began to look for an earring. The audience was trying to help him find it and they directed him to a spot in the ice that they could see. He bent over to look at it, twisted his face up all silly and in his great British accent, yelled to them, "IT'S A BUG!" He proceeded to pick it up and bring it over to the audience members to show them. I believe he had doubled a triple flip, he had a bobbling moment in his camel when his right side dropped just enough. He had an issue in the split jumps with the 3toes afterward so basically we got to see a bunch of his program again. I think Elena and Anton came before Jen. They turned the music on and Anton started to lip sync with a pretend microphone. It was hilarious because he was dead on to the music and Elena was giving him the eye roll. Then he was behind her at one point and he motioned the curves of her body--you are so beautiful--and though she didn't know what exactly he was doing, she had a pretty good idea of what he was doing and gave him an even larger eye roll. Then in a split second, they were togethe r moving into the choreography at that point of the program that was on. They retook the throw triple and she landed it firmly after having so much air that she was checked out waiting to land for what seemed like a long time! Then she proceeded into the Leap of Faith. On the way off the ice, Anton did a little more lip sync for us and then I believe they waved. Love that program! Next out was Jen. She had to fix her triple lutz. I think she may have slightly two-footed it, but it was a great redo and she was so cute and bowed to the audience on all sides before she left.

Scott thanked us for coming and then everyone left. They started to set up for the photo, but since the ushers were kicking everyone out, we couldn't stay. I think it's unfortunate that they can't at least let people stand by the exit to watch seeing as no one was being obnoxious! After reading other reviews, writing my own, and having time to reflect, I really love what they're trying to accomplish and any hesitations I have are more for the general public as they are what matter most in attending this show. I hope that people love it and want to go!
