Last night was officially the worst roller coster I have ever been on. It went from being the BEST night of my life to the WORST night of my life.
Let's start out with the best! Stars on Ice was awesome last night. Our seats couldn't have been any better. they were right next to the ice at center ice. I was thrilled. Iowa isn't a very good skating state, I don't think. There were more people there than I thought would be, but certainly not many. Not quite half full probably. The weather didn't help though, some people were probably smart and stayed home. It actually wasn't too bad yesterday; if the show had been Monday night, I doubt anyone would have been there.
Anyway, on to the show. We started out before the show began listening to the dumb jokes. lol! I was prepared though, knowing what was coming. The audience laughed at them. I don't think there were any major mistakes during the show. A few two-footed jumps and maybe some singles. I don't think anybody actually fell. Everybody was wonderful to watch.
A few things from the show...
If anybody goes to any of the next shows, I'd like to know if there's something wrong with Jamie, if she's sick or something. Jamie was in the open, mid, and closing group numbers, but they cut out Jamie and David's programs. I was dying to see them skate to both of those programs, but they didn't. David was in all of his group numbers. It seemed like maybe something was wrong with Jamie though, although I loved her acting in the number two" part with Jenni and Todd. I was going to ask David at the end, but got star-stuck. lol!
I took my Todd pennent in! After Todd skated his first program (of which there was one singled jump, but that's it). I held up my pennent. I began to wonder if he was even going to see it. He was looking above me into the audience not at me. BUT, something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye. Me! lol! He saw the pennent and gave me a smile and a wave. And if I'm not mistaken, he smiled at me more than one time during the show once he found out I was there. :o) Both of Todd's programs were awesome. I loved his Garth Brooks program. The audience did too, we were all on our feet. Todd got the only major standing ovation for that program. There was one later on for Alexei, but not as many people stood. The people in the row next to me brought a Russian flag and held it up for Alexei after his program. He smiled and waved at them.
I got a smile from Kurt Browning that I didn't realize until after it happened. I had my camera up, getting ready to take a picture when Kurt was on our side of the arena. Apparently, he looked my direction, noticed me with the camera, and he smiled and posed for me. lol!!! I heard some of the audience laugh, and I put my camera down, and mom told me that Kurt smiled for my camera. Too bad I couldn't get my camera to work.
At the end of the show, when they go around and and shake the audience members hands and thank them for coming, I got to shake Yuka Sato's, Todd Sand's, David Pelletier's, and yes, Todd Eldredge's hand. Yuka came over, and she seemed so sweet. Todd Sand is very cute (lucky Jenni). David Pelletier. Oh, wow. What do I say. I love Todd, I do. But David? He came over to my side of the arena, and I was watching him come my way. I was so hoping he would keep going. He did. He got to me and in that gorgeous French accent said "thanks for coming to the show." I could've died. *sigh*
Anyway, like I said, I was too star-struck to ask about Jamie. Oh, wait, there was one more. Todd. :o) I couldn't forget him. Todd came over took my hand (in both of his, I might add), smiled, and thanked me for coming. That topped the night off.
