It remained a huge mystery to all of us until Todd began to skate exactly what it was we were going to be seeing him perform at the Onyx shows this weekend, except that we were fairly certain it wasn't going to be Thank You for Loving Me, since it had already been announced that Spielberg/Joeright (guest performers at the Sunday shows) would be skating to that music. There was an initial thought that we might have been wrong when Todd came out for the first show wearing the Xotica shirt, leading us to believe that it would be either Thank You for Loving Me or Xotica itself. We had, of course, forgotten that the SBO (the sparkly draped shirt) had been worn once - at Japan Open - for another program - namely, Il Mare Calmo Della Sera. And that's what we were treated to, and since it really had been awhile since we'd seen it (not counting the Japan Open TV broadcast, of course) - we weren't disappointed.
Needless to say, Todd and the program closed each show by bringing down the proverbial house, and he looked in great shape and form. I was only able to attend three of the four shows, but putting what I saw together with reports from the 4th show, the jump record over the weekend was 11 triples landed out of 12 attempted - that's four triple axels, four triple lutzes, four triple toe loops, and three triple loops (the loop in the first show Saturday afternoon was doubled).
