Champions on Ice 1997

In the show's opening segment, Todd suffered a bizarre fall on a triple loop attempt (a definite splat), but got up grinning.

His performance to Close Every Doorwas very well received by the audience and was marred only by a popped triple axel attempt. This, however, scarcely mattered in a performance that also included a triple flip, a triple loop and a triple salchow, as well as a double toe/double toe combo (which I'm sure was meant to be a triple toe/double toe combination) and two double axels. It looks to me as though Todd has actually choreographed this program to include five triple jumps, including a triple axel and a triple/double combination, as well as two double axels executed back to back. Pretty impressive for an exhibition program, if you ask me!

The order of skater appearances in the finale seems to have been somewhat rearranged since Baltimore. Todd appeared much later this time, no longer skating to a segment of Summertime Blues (Michael Weiss now skates to this), but skating instead to something I've heard identified as Burn, Baby, Burn.
