The show started twenty minutes late (but then again, when does it ever start on time :o). We had a very large cast and the only one who was missing was Sarah Hughes. Overall, it was a great show and everyone seemed well rested. Unfortunately, the crowd wasn't all that receptive; no standing ovations until the finale (unless you count Leanne and I standing for Todd).
Everyone had a pretty on night. There were only two falls, Oksana crashed on a triple toe, and Michelle (yes, Michelle) crashed on a triple lutz. We were treated to three triple axels by Evgeny Plushenko, Elvis, and Todd. The two biggest rounds of applause were for Dan Hollander, who had everyone cracking up, and Todd, who skated a near perfect program. Other highlights of the afternoon were Bourne and Kraatz, Brasseur and Eisler, Annisina and Peizerat, Elvis, Dorothy and Viktor. Those that I didn't care for much were Tim (not too much inbetween, I much prefer his Sting number), Klimova and Ponomarenko (too one level), Surya (I just can't get into her music), Mikey (too much dancing, not enough skating), and Evgeny (skating was too slow and tried to play to the audience way too much).
On to Todd. Todd did a great job. Gorgeous triple axel, double axel, triple loop, and triple toe. His only mistake was doubling the lutz because he got too close to the boards. Great spins (as usual) and the audience did seem to appreciate it. They were applauding before he had fully pulled in on his last back scratch spin. I do believe he did get the largest applause of the night for an individual number, but he deserves it. I was also surprised (though very happy) that Todd keeps getting farther and farther back in the skating order. I was also surprised to see how many flashes went off while he was skating.
All in all, it was a great show, and we had a lot of fun. Can't wait to do it all over again on Tuesday in San Diego!
